Bose Family Studios is a small, family-run business based in Portland, Oregon, USA. We create and sell wooden games, puzzles, and learning materials. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller of your personal information.

- Payment processors (Stripe for orders placed on this website; Etsy Payments for orders placed through our Etsy shop). Stripe creates a customer record for each completed website checkout so we can retain the purchase and the buyer's marketing preference
- Service providers (like email newsletter platforms, if used)
- Google Analytics and Pinterest, but only if you accept analytics cookies (see Cookies and Analytics below)
- Google Customer Reviews after a website purchase, to offer an optional post-delivery survey
We do not sell or rent your data to any third parties.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and as described in this Privacy Policy. However, we may also be required to retain this information to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. We generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Cookies and Analytics
This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies by default. Analytics and advertising tools are not loaded until you choose them.
We would like to use two things that set cookies. Google Analytics tells us which pieces people look at and where visitors come from, which helps us decide what to make next. The Pinterest tag tells us which pins brought someone to the shop and whether that visit led to an order, and it lets Pinterest show our pins to people who have visited before. Google Analytics shares data with Google, and the Pinterest tag shares data with Pinterest.
Neither one loads unless you press Allow on the cookie banner, and the shop works exactly the same whether you accept or decline. If you decline after having accepted, we delete the cookies both of them set.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie choices link in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat that as a decline automatically and do not show you the banner at all.
During Stripe checkout, you may see a separate optional checkbox asking whether you want news and personalized offers from Bose Family Studios. Stripe records your choice with the checkout and we use an opt-in only to send those communications. Every promotional email will include a way to unsubscribe.
After a completed website order, Google Customer Reviews displays a separate invitation asking whether you want a post-delivery survey. To provide that invitation, we send Google your order number, email address, delivery country, and estimated delivery date. Google may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technology for this program, and will only send the survey email if you choose to participate. You can manage Google cookies through your browser settings. This program is separate from the analytics Cookie choices above.
Two small pieces of storage are always used because the shop cannot work without them: your cart contents, and your cookie choice itself. Both stay in your own browser, are never sent to us or to anyone else, and are not used to track you.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have, please contact us so we can delete the information.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to protect your personal data, but no system is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a new effective date.
